The show will air in January
Since the announcement of this show, the audience is getting excited to watch this serial. Let us tell you that shows depicting the great saga of Shriram have been made earlier also. The most popular of these has been Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana. In this show, Arun Govil played the role of Lord Ram and Deepika Chikhaliya played the role of Mata Sita. This serial became such a big hit that it was aired twice during the lockdown. At that time the TRP of this show was also high. At the same time, after this, the film Adipurush also tried to show some parts of Lord Rama’s life, due to which the film had to face a lot of controversies. After this, Ramayana will be telecast once again in January.
The most popular retelling of the Ramayana on Indian television was by Ramanand Sagar in 1987. Arun Govil and Dipika Chikhaliya played the roles of Ram and Sita in the show. Due to its overwhelming success, the show has been rerun at least three times. Amid protests from Adipurush, the makers of Ramayan announced that the popular show would be back on television.
While most retellings of Ramayana have been successful, Adipurush fails to live up to the expectations. Prabhas played the character of Raghav, Kriti played Janaki and Lankesh was played by Saif. The film was rejected by the audience due to the brutal dialogues uttered by the character named Bajrang (Devdutt Nage). The author of Adipurush, Manoj Muntashir was criticized for not respecting the Ramayana. Reportedly, a huge amount of money was invested in making Adipurush a spectacular sight. However, the VFX was done poorly. For the 3D viewing experience, Adipurush fails to deliver stunning visuals.
After getting the response, Adipurush made it to OTT platforms. The Om Raut-directed film is currently streaming on Netflix and Prime Video simultaneously. Apart from Adipurush, Nitish Bharadwaj and Smriti Irani also did a television show based on Ramayana. Ashish Sharma and Madirakshi Mundle’s popular daily soap Siya Ke Ram was one of the many versions.
